Across America!
In January 2019, I traveled across California, USA from Los Angeles to San Francisco in about two weeks. The purpose was to research the demand for hanko in North America and the state of Japanese culture, visiting mainly Japanese retail businesses. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who cooperated with me. By the way, I traveled by car. The image shows a hanko (a kanji character written in ateji) for English-speaking countries that was just released at a Japanese store in San Jose. Made in China, Japanese businesses need to hurry or they'll be overtaken!
